Jerry Breckinridge2023-09-01I can't say enough good things about this company. Jake (yes, we are on a first-name basis) is a local businessman who cares about his neighbors. Jake was appalled by the amount I was paying for electricity and made it his mission to make sure I no longer had to pay ridiculous amounts for electricity. On top of that, Jake made sure I was protected during power outages by installing batteries and a generator backup outlet. I did not enter into business with Oregon Solar and Battery on a whim, I did my research. After interviewing and receiving quotes from four other solar companies, Oregon Solar and Battery came in 40% lower than all of the other quotes. Yes, 40%. In my situation, that equated to $40,000. And, that included the battery backup that the other quotes did not even include! So, after nearly three months of being in operation, I have paid two electric bills that total $12.00 per month (the fee that Pacific Power charges for remaining on the grid) and I recently had full power during a power outage that lasted over four hours. Yes, I had AC, internet, television, my well, etc.. If you are looking into solar, go with this company. Jake and his crew (special recognition goes to Zyles, his main man) are responsive, quick, and knowledgable. I went from paying $700 a month for electricity to $12.00 a month. These guys are amazing!

The federal government offers a tax credit for 30% of the cost of a residential or commercial solar system, with no upper limit. This credit is available for both existing homes and new construction.

If you install a home solar power system in Oregon, the value you’ve added to your home will not be included in the assessment of the property’s value for property tax purposes. This is a significant benefit for homeowners.

Oregon currently has relatively low electricity rates, it’s important to note that rates typically increase each year. By installing a solar power system, you can pay off your investment each year and move towards energy independence, saving you money in the long run.
If your electricity rates were to increase by 5% annually, you could end up spending significantly more money on electricity over time. For example, if you’re currently paying $100 per month for electricity, in just five years, you could end up paying $127.63 per month due to the annual 5% increase. Over a 10-year period, your monthly electricity bill could increase to $163.86.
By installing a solar power system, you can protect yourself from rising electricity costs and potentially save thousands of dollars over time. Not only will you be able to produce your own clean, renewable energy, but you can also take advantage of various solar incentives and rebates offered by the state of Oregon and local utilities, making it an even more financially savvy decision.
This program is available to customers of Pacific Power and PGE who install new home solar power systems on new or existing homes. The Oregon Department of Energy’s (ODOE) rebates are available for customers who install solar power systems through an ODOE-approved contractor. The rebate amount is passed on to customers as savings, with no need to pay in advance and wait for a rebate check.
In some cases, low or moderate-income households can receive a rebate worth up to 60% of the system’s cost. Solar and storage installations must meet certain criteria and be installed by an ODOE-approved contractor.
